This point release most notably includes new modules enabling detailed instrumentation of DAOS storage systems (e.g., on ALCF Aurora):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>There are 2 new modules that instrument the DAOS file system interface (DFS) and native object interfaces (DAOS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Darshan&#8217;s heatmap module also now supports capture of I\/O activity across both of these new DAOS modules.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have also released PyDarshan 3.4.7.0 on PyPI, which includes the following new capabilities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New PyDarshan CLI tools for extracting statistics from one or more input log files:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><code>job_stats<\/code>: Overall job-level I\/O statistics for each input Darshan log<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>file_stats<\/code>: Overall file-level I\/O statistics for application files accessed across all input Darshan logs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each tool offers command line options to control how jobs\/files are sorted, statistics output format (CSV or Rich-style printing), Darshan module to analyze, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for reading DAOS module data, as well as integrations of DAOS data into PyDarshan summary reports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support for PyDarshan <code>ReportObject<\/code> name filtering, enabling users to provide record name patterns to match when reading data from Darshan logs.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Available via <code>filter_patterns<\/code> and <code>filter_mode<\/code> arguments to various <code>ReportObject<\/code> routines:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><code>filter_patterns<\/code>: list of regexes to match<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><code>filter_mode<\/code>: &#8220;exclude&#8221; or &#8220;include&#8221; records matching provided regexes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Documentation for Darshan and PyDarshan is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcs.anl.gov\/research\/projects\/darshan\/documentation\/\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please report any questions, issues, or concerns with this release on our Slack instance, using the <a href=\"https:\/\/lists.mcs.anl.gov\/mailman\/listinfo\/darshan-users\">Darshan-users mailing list<\/a>, or by opening an issue on our <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/darshan-hpc\/darshan\">GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darshan version 3.4.7 is now officially available for download HERE.
