We achieve this by utilizing multiple copies of variational quantum states to treat nonlinearities efficiently and by introducing tensor networks as a programming paradigm. The key concepts of the algorithm are demonstrated for the nonlinear Schrödinger equation as a canonical example. We numerically show that the variational quantum ansatz can be exponentially more efficient than matrix product states and present experimental proof-of-principle results obtained on an IBM Q device.

Please note that the meeting URL for this event can be seen on the cels-seminars website, which requires an Argonne login.

Seminar Title: Variational Quantum Algorithms for Nonlinear Problems Speaker: Michael Lubasch, Research Scientist, Cambridge Quantum Computing, Ltd., UK Date/Time: May 18, 2022 / 10:30 am – 11:30 am Location: See meeting URL on the cels-seminars website (requires Argonne login) Host: Tanwi … Continue reading →

[2
post-2994","tribe_events","type-tribe_events","status-publish","hentry","tribe_events_cat-seminar","cat_seminar
["GET
