Streaming Data Analysis and Decision Making in Extreme Scale Experimental Environments
Fred Streitz, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory
Tue 11:30am – 12:15pm
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has a long history of fielding some of the world’s largest computers, fueled by a nearly insatiable need for both capacity and capability computing. Each new generation of computing brings with it the ability to perform simulations that were impossible with earlier computers. Several such simulations touching the fields of materials, fluids and biology will be discussed, as well as a prediction of what might be possible with the next generation of computers.
