Workshop on Challenges in Next-Generation Analytics for the Future Power Grid

Mihai Anitescu and Henry Huang participated in the “Grid Optic” workshop organized by the Future Power Grid Intiative at PNNL, co-lead by Huang.  The workshop took place in Seattle on November 29-30.  The workshop initiated a process to create community-driven requirements and plans for the development of next-generation power grid analytics and generate actionable outputs to rapidly move power grid analytics forward. It consisted of a plenary session followed three parallel working sessions on: Software Architectures, Numerical Libraries and Visualization.  The numerical libraries discussion included detailed discussions on how applied mathematics research in M2ACS and other efforts can advance the state of the art in the area.
