Leadership

I serve as Director of the RAPIDS SciDAC Institute for Computer Science, Data, and Artificial Intelligence, a ~6M/yr DOE Office of Science activity serving the needs of computational science on very large compute platforms. RAPIDS provides numerous opportunities to connect with domain scientists and aid in scientific discovery, as well as many great opportunities to work with colleagues in computer science and applied mathematics.

Additionally, I represent computational partnership activities under the Mathematics and Computer Science Division, helping connect computer scientists and applied mathematicians with domain scientists and DOE mission specialists.

A few years back I had the opportunity to serve as Interim Division Director for the Mathematics and Computer Science Division, for almost a year. I appreciate having the experience of leading and representing such a talented group, and the chance to get to know these people better, but I’m also glad that Valerie Taylor agreed to serve in this role on a permanent basis.
